I started looking closer to electronic suppliers, researching prices and availability. I bumped into Golden Motor, which supplies electric motors, batteries, controllers etc... as stand alone parts or Kits. What made me like them from the beginning is the fact of the availability of technical drawings, making it easier for us to design our e.Moped around their components.

We will need help later on defining which model of hub motor,battery,controller should we start with...anyone?

Just for fun, a frame concept with a fixed Battery/Controller Box where everything else attaches to. Box shall be designed in such way to enable any battery/electronics to be used. We would start with a hub motor to keep things simple. Fitting a pedal crankset would be awesome as well, leaving the rider with the option to pedal home when battery dies.

It was time to start the works...by sketching the frame main measurements in Solidworks. I used an 24 inch wheel diameter for now. We can play around with the geometries to meet our needs. Also good to point out that we still haven't defined a concept for the frame yet. We are just puting up useful files for any direction the project takes, any ideas for a flexible frame concept? lets populate the discussion group... cheers!
